[link]Evidentally several schools like this one exist across the country. They exist to pound the ever-living shit out of kids until they bend to some notion of "normality" (the socially-conservative fundamentalist kind). Your parents' sign away their and your's rights, the school kidnaps you, cuts off all contact from the outside world for you, beats you, tortures you, brainwashes you until you're a broken husk of a human being. Oh, and don't "act up" or they'll send you to Jamaica where it's even easier to cut you off from the rest of the world. And child labor laws are much weaker there.
All to "cure" you being gay, or atheist, or socially awkward, or what have you. For just 3000 a month, your child can be 'normal' too.
And apparently this is legal.
What in the ever loving fuck??
Many of the things the staff there do to the kids are the same things the Nazis did to people in the concentration camps. Fucked around with them on a whim. Assigned them to groups where the whole group was responsible for the actions of the individual. Etc. It was their emotionalist and collectivist philosophy manifest in physical form, forced on defenseless victims.
I seriously recommend reading The Ominous Parallels, by Dr. Leonard Peikoff. He examines the philosophical history of Germany leading up to the takeover of Hitler, and compares it to the current philosophical trends in America, noting the many "Ominous Parallels" between pre-Nazi Germany and modern America.
They should come to that conclusion themselves. Any self respecting parent should know this.
Two of the things people in power want out of the poor, or mid class people of this world... If they cannot control them then they will destroy them.
This kind of thing invokes fanatical behavior no matter what ones beliefs are...
If someone can produce a copy of the contracts that are signed for this kind of thing im sure they will have some way to make it all seem legal... If it sounds the way it does to me than its in the contracts...
Ugh seriously these "schools" piss me off so much.
Anything can be sullied at the hands of a human being when they have evil intentions. It's best not to point fingers at particular groups; people hate each other for just being different and that goes for everyone. Not all atheists and such are tolerant, not all Christians are intolerant hypocrites. And America is not full of places like these. Generalizing is always a bane.
But, having some experience with fanatics(although fanaticism can go for all denominations), they'll hate on you if you don't fit their particular denomination as well. Happened with me when I was surrounded by pretty radical protestants (unsure of what kind). It's highly saddening when THAT happens let alone people who may or may not believe in God to begin with. The fanatics are totally convinced that THEIR way down to every little detail is the absolute and only way, so even within some groups of Christians they'll hate on each other for having some doctrinal differences.
So those kinds of people make God cry, as I like to say. They give people who try being real Christians and all look very bad. Christians aren't supposed to be like that at all...There's a big problem there when they're not even following what they claim to be so firm in.
