Quetzalcoatl is the god of wind, lightning, storms, water, creation, pretty much everything really, of meso-American myth. In Zazaniltin (Tales) he is Mayauel's young companion and the youngest of the 'Tezcatlipocas' (group of four dragons), the White Tezcatlipoca. I refer to his type of dragon as a Quetzalcoatlan dragon for simplicity, but in the comic they'll have a different name to avoid confusion. The story takes place in the Amazon before meso-American cities existed.
Quetz would be about 8 or 9 if he were human and he has a hyperactive overly-excitable personality (and is also the most fun to draw). He cannot yet fly but can glide, and all his body feathers have come in. He constantly is getting into trouble, butting heads with Tezcatlipoca (the char, not the group), and always tries to take Maya's jade crystal. Over all, a complete brat.
