My first film made at USC, animated entirely in Flash and edited in Premiere Pro. This also was on my Youtube account (and was previously downloadable here before the film feature was available) but only now have I decided to uploaded it here too. While this isn't the genesis of Ravage* (no, he's way older than this), he DID end up being my guinea pig as I forayed into lip sync and character animation. Writing for him was a cinch, the script editing process itself not so much.
Originally this was to be almost 2 minutes long, but since I had a single semester to complete it, it was cut down to more like 30 seconds. So many great jokes were cut out, the class expressed real pain when they told me to remove different lines. That was a tough deal, I tell ya. And after all that editing, I was left with only about 3 weeks to animate the entire thing. I was almost dead by the end.
Completed in 2007. Voices by Dan Lippert and Justin Michael. My voice and a classmate's (Caitlin Cragg's) included as well. Sound mixing by the magically awesome Bethany Sparks.
This film is a good example of why Flash is bad with audio. Somehow everyone's voice ended up slowed down by a TON. It's not so noticeable on Ravage (it actually sounds better!) but the agent is ludicriously deep voiced. Lesson learned!
